Andrew Ve Hansen is a quilt artist based in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Working with a variety of quilting techniques, he explores themes of culture, psychology, and global trends. He is drawn to the centuries-old craft of quiltmaking because it generally evokes feelings of comfort, warmth, and safety which can then be subtly subverted into whatever statement he is conveying. This dichotomy strengthens the impact of his message. And then sometimes he just likes to make pretty quilts.
