Most artists find imagery first, then words. Not the case with these most recent Kimono Form Political pieces,that have held my attention for almost a year, each informing the next on construction possibilities.
Creating art in any form often results in something attractive or beautiful to enjoy. Using art making as a political statement without falling into illustration, is more challenging, in my experience.
The medium is truly the message in these works: stitching vinyl Barricade Tape to create fabric” amplifies the layered intent of each.
