Materials: Recycled poly/cotton fabric. Acrylic yarn, cotton cord, batik printed, commercial cotton appliquéd
Techniques: Hand stitched into the machine and hand sewn folds and groves, are coils of tightly wrapped yarn with a core of cotton cord. The foundation poly/cotton fabric is machine and hand quilted.
Artist Statement: ABOUT the EMERGENT SERIES winter 2018 into spring 2019 – Eyes from the sky, flying over earth surfaces and witnessing the changes, is the focus of this Emergent Series.. The aerial view never fails to thrill, even as it informs. As the oceans warms, we are experiencing more snow, fiercer storms, extreme flooding. A cruel beauty witnessed from above.
