Size: 40” x 40”
Date: 2019
Materials: Cotton fabrics, fabric paint, batting, polyester thread
Techniques: All fabrics were created by the artist through direct printing and monoprinting using a Plexiglas plate, fabric paints and marking tools. Machine pieced. Machine quilted.
Artist Statement: Wavering away arose from my fascination with pattern around me, including in nature. I have been exploring how the repetition of one form leads to new possibilities of rhythm. Each square repeats the same motif of three lines but the hand gesture of drawing each line and square individually makes for unique variations. How the squares are assembled shows the possibilities of design, and reality, in this case evoking movement of water.
