Artist statement: “Material Witness” instantly impels the image of yellow caution tape. “Do Not Cross” is not the depiction of actual caution tape, but rather the attempt to capture the flash of mental imagery that accompanies the concept: the stark, bare, bones of an instant crash of associations.
