Living through “the” pandemic has taken a toll on all of us in different ways. After 48 years of marriage, my husband passed away in April 2021. Suddenly I found myself alone in a world where everyone was trapped in forced isolation. The social support that I had nurtured over many years fell apart. It seemed as if everyone was living in their own personal bubble of fear.
Asking questions about the wisdom of it all was frowned upon and discouraged. I felt trapped – physically, emotionally, mentally, and socially isolated – with few outlets and little support. Waiting for release…
