Artist Statement North & South Korea have been living in “limbo” under an armistice agreement ever since the end of the Korean war in 1953. The latest effort to sign a peace treaty & reunite the two Koreas are a positive development. Let’s hope that those “loose ends” can be tied up. My piece is representing the two Koreas, piecing the silk fabric in the Korean bojagi style and using the colors seen in traditional costumes.
